Why there are 360 longitudes on globe and 181 lalltudues on the globe​

1.For crossing the whole globe from west to east you need to travel across all the longitudes to complete a circle of 3600 but in case of latitude farthest you can travel is from one pole to another, you need to cover the half portion of the earth i.e. 1800 because we've already divided the Earth in half (Equator).

2.In case once you have reached the opposite pole and moving farther, you are just crossing the already crossed latitude but same is not the case with longitudes.You have to go all way round the earth crossing new longitude to complete a circle of 3600
