. It is necessary in mammals and birds to separate oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood because this makes their circulatory system is more efficient and helps in maintaining constant body temperature.

We have separate channels because
The oxygenated blood is used for many purposes by our body tissues through the oxygen present in that blood
Whereas as deoxygenated blood donot have oxygen it cannot perform life processes by which man can go to death.
If we have no presence of channels definitely our tissues may not be able to get oxygen through oxygenated blood
