Why there is a difference of 2 hours in local time between the easternmost part of Arunachal Pradesh and westernmost part of Gujarat?

There is no time difference between Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat. From Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh there is a time lag of two hours. Hence,time along the Standard Meridian of India (82°30`E) passing through Mirzapur is taken as the standard time meridian for the whole country.
