Why there is a discrimation between men and women?

It is natural that there will be a discrimination between a man and a woman because in the old times and even now there is a common thinking that only and only man has the right to earn. Nowadays, society is reforming and the girls want to literate. So, in future we will find that the women have caught their rights and their will be no discrimination among males and females. But in the old times girls were not literate, so there was a discrimination.
            So, we can say that illiteracy is the main cause for discrimination among males and females.
