there is a gap between two nerous known as synapse. when a nerve impulse reaches the nerve ending it sets of to release some chemical which covers the gap.
then and similar impulse is generated at the next nerous .A final finally allows the delivery of such impulse from one neurone to another cell such as muscle cell or glands....

The gap between the two neurons is known as Synapse , where the conversation of electric impulses to chemical impulse takes place .
If there was no synapse then it would be impossible to convert the electric signal into chemical signal.
Synapse are the foundation of all memory, information and decision making like conscious and unconscious in nervous system.
Without synapse you would none of that and there would have been no evolution of animal kingdom .
