Answer:
this is because chennai is located near coast and Delhi is a plain area in northern reason
Chennai is surrounded with sea. It lies in extreme South and surrounded with Bay of Bengal. More or less, weather in Chennai remained same and different from Delhi in all seasons, and Delhi is situated in the north. It enjoys 4 seasons - Winter, Summer, Spring & Autumn. Weather of Delhi is far different from Chennai. From Dec to Feb, Delhi experienced cold conditions when minimum temperature records in a single digit. March experienced pleasant conditions. April, May and June are months of hot conditions when maximum temperature go beyond 40 degree Celsius. July, August and September are months of rains and humid weather when south-west monsoon arrives. October and November are known for pleasant weather that is why there is a huge difference in the temperature during winter and summer in Delhi as compared to Chennai.
