why there is a need of surrounding of figures during calculation

Answer:

Rounding off of figures during calculation helps to make calculation of big digits easier. It will be difficult to multiply a decimal number and will take a lot of time so for making it easier we round it off . ... For example if the number is 467.62 then the round off number will be 468.
