alternative fuels have multiple disadvantages that may affect people's choices on whether they want to use them or not.  Biofuels have a low energy output and require greater amounts to be consumed in order to produce the same energy level.  There is a large demand for food crops such as corn to produce biofuels, which could raise prices for necessary staple food crops
