there is a difference in the rate of breathing between the aquatic organism and Terrestrial organism because the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water is much less than the amount on the land so they have to breath more in order to get more oxygen. The breathing rate of aquatic animals is faster than that of Terrestrial animals because the amount of oxygen available in dissolved form is extremely low in concentration as compared to oxygen available in the air and the aquatic animals require oxygen that is dissolve in water. Oxygen is the necessary element for the survival of all the organisms on the earth accept anaerobes.
