Here is ur answer..
Dispersion :
Splitting of light is called as Dispersion.
Dispersion occurs due to difference in the angle for the diff.colours..
In glass slab..the two surfaces are parallel so the lateral dispersion occurs.
But, In prism the two opp.surfaces are not parallel..so there will be no lateral dispersion.
