there is a leap year after every four years because earth takes 365 days and 6 hours to complete 1 revolution around the earth when the earth again completes one revolution around the sun it again takes 365 days and 6 hours the previous year's 6 hours add up to make 12 hours after 4 years all the four times 6 hours add up to make 24 hours. 24 hours= 1 day and that 1 day is added to the month of February and it becomes the month of 29 days
