To obtain oxygen in its pure form and remove impurities from it, we need to separate it from the air. This is why separation of substances isnecessary.

we need many substances to make our life convenient and comfortable but most of these substances are available in the form of mixtures. this mixtures contain unwanted substances which may be harmful and may degrade the properties of mixtures.
