Telangana state does not have littoral forests because the state does not have sea or any kind of marshy land. Littoral Forests are known to be grown in coastal areas and on sandy marshy lands.

• Littoral Forests are called "wetland forests"  and  "Littoral forests and Swamp forests" as well. However, both these forests are different.

• There are three types of Littoral Forests: Beach Forests, Tidal Forests, and Freshwater Swamp Forests.

• Littoral forests are found in patches and narrow strips along the coastlines. Twiners and climbers are the salient features of Littoral Forests.

• India has a rich variety of these types of forests. Littoral forests are mainly found in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, reservoirs of the Deccan Plateau, the Eastern Coast of Deltas, saline coasts of the Gulf of Kutch, Gujarat and Rajasthan, Lakes and Rivers of Ladakh and Kashmir, and at the Swamps of North East India.
