Because space is full of vacuum which is not profitable for oxygen to exist. That's the reason why we can't take breath in space.

Ya its true that there is no oxygen available in space which means that we cannot breathe in space. this is because :
→there is no gravity present in space to condense the gas molecules .
→presence of vacuum
