why there is vast temperature difference in day and night temperature on moon???
Answers
It is because there is no atmosphere on moon. As there are gases in our atmosphere which trap sun's heat and maintain earth's temperature. No gases trap sun's heat on moon's surface due to which at day time it is extremely hot and at night, too cold
The Moon rotates once in about 28 Earth days. So everywhere experiences heat and cold. There is no permanently hot side and no permanently cold side. So, it's like Earth, but with much longer daytime and night.
In fact, the Moon is one of the most perfectly spherical bodies in the Solar System.
However, there is one way the day-night temperature variations seem to have affected the Moon. The Moon's surface is covered by dust, due to the break up of larger rocks. This is probably due, in part at least, to the temperature changes. That's similar to what has happened with sand formed from rocks in deserts on Earth.
Also, NASA has studied the effect of temperature on the composition of the surface material, but I'm not sure what the results were.
i hope it will help u.
