why these drugs (penicillins, erythromycins, polymycin b, rifampin, sulfanilamide) are specific for bacteria?

Because they target to bacteria and are antibacterial..

because all the bacterias follow a particualr life cycle in the process of infecting a body...n these drugs break that life cycle protecting our body....while in case of viruses...they dont really have a life cycle n just use the host body to carry on its life n drugs cannot harm the host body...
