The excretory system is the system of an organism's body that performs the function of excretion, the bodily process of discharging wastes.

The Excretory system is responsible for the elimination of wastes produced by homeostasis.

Our body produces various wastes during the process of digestion and other metabolic reactions. It is necessary to remove these wastes because they are toxic for our body.

In the Urinary system, Kidneys eliminate excess water, toxins and urea. This helps in maintaining electrolytic balance.

hence it's called as secondary function.
