Tiles can be placed efficiently only on a flat surface. If there are vibrations, the tiles deflect from their flatness and there is a chance that the tile might crack out.

Often around the schools and buildings, the noise levels cannot be controlled due to various reasons. So, therefore having tiles around them would not be a good idea in the long run.

Also, it is a bad idea to have tiles in open areas. Wet tiles are one of the most dangerous causes of many accidents especially due to slipping. It is preferred to use tiles only in a dry environment.
