It's because of the wavelength of red light.It can travel far more than other lights.It caneven travel through storm, dust and smog but sure reach the destination.
So this is used in traffic signals and in towers too.
You can observe the same phenomenon in setting sun's redsky!

It's not like that...It's in the dispersion order
In dispersion, violet light is scattered more.So it is at the first position.
M sorry it bends more while dispersion.
That's why in the first position.
