As transition elements have more Valence elections than alkali metals, they need more ionisation energy. Ionisation energy is the energy that is required to lose or gain one electron. So , if element has more no. of Valence electrons, they need more ionisation energy. But, so much energy is not easily available. So they are not that much reactive as alkali metals
