I think like these elements have d and f shells so no of valence electrons change with ground and excited state.

Not sure

Shri2002: oh
anushka128: no cbse
anushka128: what oh
anushka128: I just love to read chemistry
anushka128: and I also read pearson iit foundation book
anushka128: these things are given but I wanted more
anushka128: and it doesn't matter in which class I'm reading in
anushka128: ok
Shri2002: but the answer given by the other person is pucca right
anushka128: ok but why didn't you gave reason for my other question that I had asked in comment box

because due to more electron in n- 1 d orbitalwhich is close to energy level

anushka128: did you mean 2nsquare rule
anushka128: where n is number of shell
abhinav161: no their are further rules like aufbau rule , pauli exclusion ,hunds rule , why are u worring .
abhinav161: this question is not going to come in ur exam this is 11 class question.
abhinav161: no need to woorry
anushka128: I just wanna no about transition metal . and I'm not worried about it . it's just my hobby to learn
anushka128: I mean know
anushka128: although I'm a student of standard 8 but I love to learn these things like discovery of electrons , protons , neutrons , polyatomic ions ,isotopes etc. I know it's above my class not my interest
anushka128: aufbau rule states about spdf. am I right
anushka128: but thanks
