It is because of the fact that plants contain a lot of sclerenchyma cells which are basically dead cells and moreover they do not move from place to place which causes slow utilization thus causing slower transportation.

hey!!!
_________

Generally natural selection ‘prefers’ systems that require less energy to produce than systems that cost more energy to produce if both result in the same end.

▪The primary system of transportation in plants is driven by transpiration. This is done primarily by using an external engine air and heat evaporating water rather than an internal pump heart.

▪It requires less energy from the plant to use the sun and air to evaporate water rather than pumping a heart-like organ so any systems that developed which were more costly were outcompeted by less costly systems in natural selection.

▪Systems that require less energy from the plant to produce and run are likely simpler than systems that require more energy to produce and run such as a heart and lungs/gills.

▪Since transpiration takes less energy to create than an internal pump (
heart the process of evolution favoured the simpler system.

▪This is how I expect plants arrived at a simpler system than animals which cannot use transpiration and had to evolve a more complex system to handle a similar problem of moving liquids around the organism.

hope help u!!
