Why triple bond is more electronegative then double bond?

Answer: As the hybridization of an atom goes from sp3 (single bond) , to sp2 (double bond) , to sp (triple bond) the electronegativity increases. This is because : sp orbital have a shorter bond, and are more strongly held together by the nucleus, than the electrons in sp2 or sp3.
