The tropical cyclone zones formation are divided into seven basins. These are the North Atlantic Ocean, the eastern and western parts of the Northern Pacific Ocean, the southwestern Pacific, the southwestern and southeastern Indian Oceans, and the northern Indian Ocean.
These cyclones are largely confined to South China Sea, Bay of Bengal and Gulf of Mexico because of the Coriolis forces, which helps the tropical cyclones rotate as it is very weak near the equator.
