truck tyres are threaded to increase friction between the tyres and the surface so that it provides a firm grip and the tyres doesn't slip on the road . this prevents accidents

Tires with tread offer better grip and control on wet roads and loose terrain, they are the practical tires. The treads are designed to allow water to be expelled from beneath the tire and prevent hydroplaning.. Slick tires are good for speed and racing applications because of the greater area of contact hence more traction but the control offered isn't so great on wet roads.
