Why tubular coductor is used instesd of solid conductor in outdoor television antenna

High frequency currentflow through outer boundary of the conductor and not through the center(that is skin effect) as a result,to make the antennas cheaper and lighter hollow conductor or tubular conductor is used instead of solid conductor
