Conditions

There are 4 conditions that make hell build up above our heads:

High moisture content in the airLifting action (Convection, turbulence, frontal, orographic)Adiabatic cooling of the rising air unstable atmosphere

Development stages

1.- Developing stage: it starts with a combination of the conditions mentioned above, the rising air from the lifting action cools down as it is rising, decreasing its capacity to hold water until eventually it becomes saturated and the water drops appear.

2.-Mature stage: water drops start to fall drawing air with them, often in the middle of the cloud surrounded by the strong updraft, this rising air act as fuel for the thunderstorm providing new water drops. The downdrafts in the middle could reach 3000ft/min and the surrounding updrafts 5000-6000ft/min

This is the most hazardous stage of the thunderstorm. Normally we will encounter meteorological phenomena such as hail, icing, turbulence, torrential rain, wind shear, and microbursts

3.-Decaying stage: an anvil shape becomes visible as an indication of the loss of balance in the thunderstorm, but we can still encounter sporadic showers, sometimes virga and wind shear.
