Answer:
aristotle and linnaeus both classified organism into two groups i.e , plants & animals . classification of aristotle is pioneer than linnaeus , here is the similarities and differences between their classification :
Linnaeus, like Aristotle, classified organisms according to their traits. The classification systems of both Aristotle and Linnaeus started with the same two groups: Plants and Animals.
Linnaeus called these groups, kingdoms. But, unlike Aristotle, Linnaeus divided kingdom into five levels: class, order, genus, species, and variety. Organisms were placed in these levels based on traits, including similarities of body parts , physical form such as size, shape, and methods of getting food.
Reasons for linnaeus success :
1. Linnaeus made it much more specific.
2. Linnaeus based it on evidence and characteristics.
3. Linnaeus used a hierarchial classification system.
that’s why Carlous linnaeus is called father of classification .
