when the ships come closer there is an increase in the air velocity between the narrow gap of the two ships .
Due to this the pressure decreases.
The pressure between the Gap and the two boats is less than the pressure on outer surfaces of both the row of ships.
Therefore they are pulled together and many a times they collide.
