India is one of the most diversified country in the world. It is often seen that countries with diversity face conflicts and civil wars often due to dominanation of the majority. Sri Lanka is often such example where there was a civil war between tamilians and sinhalese. India never faced such problems as the freedom struggles and national movement United the people. Leaders of India during freedom struggle often paid attention on Unity. After independence India became a secular state which avoided conflicts between religious groups. Hindi was not imposed on south Indians, nort eastern and other non hindi speaking communities. Each major linguistic group were given their own states. this avoided conflicts on the basis of language. disadvantaged groups were given special provisions and they were given equality. this avoided conflicts between so called upper caste and lower caste. Indian constitution treats everyone equally which created a sense of satisfaction and nationalism in the people of India. Hence, our country is United.
