Upper respiratory tract infections include influenza and common cold caused by virus or bacteria. These infections are common in infants because the causative agents of these diseases gain entry into the respiratory tract of the infant easily by contact of their nose or eyes to the infected person. These agents can also enter the body from air. If the infected person sneezes than they can be inhaled by infants.
