Spectrum is broaden by spontaneous emission. ... More the energy of transition greater the spontaneous emission occur. Electronic transition use higher energy whereas Vibrational/Rotational/NMR transitions use lower energy. Hence, electronic transitions are broader whereas NMR transitions are sharper.
