Variations are observed during sexual reproduction because in sexaual reproduction dna copying takes place and during dna copying some errors takes place which leads to variations.

Answer:

Variations are observed in sexual reproduction because of the fusion between the male gametes as well as the female gametes. This fusion results in inheritation of some of the female DNA characteristics and some of the male DNA characteristics, thus producing variations.

Explanation:

  1. In the process of sexual reproduction, one male chromosome with the DNA information gets fused into one female chromosome with her DNA information, and thus it creates variations in the offspring.
  2. Further, if a Y chromosome of males gets fused to X chromosome of females, a boy is born and if an X chromosome of males gets fused to X chromosome of females, a girl is born.
