why ventricle specially left ventricle is thick walled?

The left ventricular wall is thicker so it can generate sufficient pressure to pump blood throughout the body EXCEPT blood to the lungs...

it is thick walled (left ventricle)because in order to pump the blood to all parts of the body(except lungs) through aorta
