A finger-like projection of the lining of the small intestine is called Villi. In short, when we eat, our food, via Oesophagus, reaches the stomach. There, the stomach makes an acidic nature using HCL so that the bile juice can work upon and help in *Digesting* the food. Then it goes in Small Intestine. And in the small intestine, Villi aborbs the nutrients which are required, and there are many blood vessels connected to Villi, so, the nutrients reach each and every cell via blood from Villi. So, the work of Villi is to absorb, but the work of stomach is to digest i.e. to break down in smaller molecules.
