Wasp sting is basic in nature..
However Vinegar is Acidic..
So a neutrilisation reaction takes place and helps to reduce the pain caused by Wasps sting.. Basicity of wasp's sting is reduced by Acidic vinegar..

Wasp sting venom is alkaline and so its effects can be neutralised with vinegar or acid and this neutralisationthen reduces the pain. ... Bee sting venom is acidic and so its effects can be neutralised with bicarbonate of soda or alkali and this reaction reduces the pain.
