because people are still not able to figure out what it is. I mean, it is in the border of living and non living. it is dead when it is not in a host....but when it attaches to a host it uses our metabolism to cope up with its life.

...

that is why it is difficult to make anti-viral medicines than antibiotics. virus uses our cell

...

take this example!

case 1: An unarmed thief stands in front of you. you have a gun. you shoot him. he's dead, alright.

case 2: an unarmed thief tied to your friend stands in front of you...you don't shoot him, because you are afraid of shooting your friend.

.

.

.

case 1 is with bacteria.

case 2 is with virus..

this is why you can't destroy virus easily, you will end up damaging your own cells.

Answer:

Virus doesn't consist of cells. It can't said to be living or non living, because it is living while in livings (it uses human machinery for its life) and non living while out of living body. So characteristics of a virus doesnt match with the any kindom of livings. Therefore Viruses are not biological organisms so they are not classified in any kingdom of living things. They do not have any organelles and cannot respire or perform metabolic functions.

Hope this Helps:)
