Why voltmeter and ammeter connected in different ways give reasons .why?

hii mate here is ur anwer_____________________
☆in order for voltmeter to measure a divice voltage , it must be connected in parallel to that divice .this is necessary becoz object in parallel experience the same potential difference.
☆ In order for an ammeter to measure a divice current , it must be connected in series to that divice .this is necessary becoz object in series experience the same current .
