Voting is a very important part of democracy. It is a peaceful method as unlike early times, when there were monarchs who fought in order to conquer territories, it promotes the opinion of the common man. When the succession was hereditary, there were conspiracies amongst the royals which usually involved murders too. Also there were riots on due to the unhappiness of the people regarding the hereditary succession. All in all, voting proves to be more peaceful.
