The Ocean currents are named as Warm Ocean currents and Cold Ocean Currents.Because:
1. Warm Ocean Currents: These currents got their name as these currents flow from the regions near the Equator. As the Water near the equator is more warmer than anywhere else, and as these flow from the Equator to the Poles, they are named as Warm Ocean Currents.
2. Cold Ocean Currents: These currents got their name as these currents flow from the regions of the Poles. As the water near the Poles are colder than anywhere else, and as the flow from the Poles to the Equator, they are named as Cold ocean Currents.
