Ans: The British started controlling nationalists by implementing the Rowlatt Act in1919.
Gandhiji formed an association named "Satyagraha Sabha" to oppose the provisions of the Act of 1919.
Gandhiji called for one day hartal due to which many freedom fighters were arrested.
To oppose these arrests, people peacefully gathered in Jallianwala Bagh on 13th April 1919,
the Baisakhi festival day.
