Answer:The Indian soldiers wanted an Indian ruler to lead them

Explanation: Alot of conflicts arose in the mid 1800's mainly with the sepoys. The British forced them to do things which went against their religious beliefs. Due to the soldiers declared war on the firangas and decided Bahadur Shah Zafar was going to lead them.

The ageing emperor had to accept th demand of the sepoys. Bahadur Shah Zafar wrote letters to all chiefs and rulers to fight against the british. That single step taken by Bahadur Shah Zafar dramatically changed the entire situation.

Often when people see an alternative possibility they feel inspired and enthused. It gives them courage, hope and confidence to act ..
