Answer:

Bastile was a symbol of the French despotism.

Being under pressure by the struggle of the revolutionaries the king Louis 16 agreed for vote per capita as the member of National Constituent Assembly. France had been under severe economic crisis under the king's rule. The fortress of Bastile stood as a symbol of royal despotism that supplied guns for suppressing suburb town of Saint Antoini. On 14th July, 1789 a violent mob attacked the Bastile and raised it to the ground. Bastile was an old fortress used as a prison. The crowd fearful of the government counter attack searched for arms. The object was to seize the maskets, gunpowder, cartridge stored in the fortress of Bastile. The release of the prisoners were another issue. The crowd that failed the Bastile was artisans, masters and their help men such as locksmith, cobblers, shopkeepers and similar others. When the fortress failed it's governor and who defended the fort were killed. Bastile incident paved the way for the end of the feudalism.
