Why was Britain able to establish an Empire in India?

After the death of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The crumbling of the old system gave place to new ideas and many new powers emerged on the political horizon of India. During this period, India was exploited politically, socially, economically and culturally. The East India Company took advantage of the politically instability and gradually, took over the control on large part of India and The East India Company established as a trading company.
