When The leaders of India were arrested, the crowds became angry and started demonstrating in the streets of Peshawar , policemen were firing and many of them were killed

Gandhiji himself was arrested

The peaceful satyagrahis were attacked

Children and women were beaten

More than 100,000 people were arrested

To break this deadline between the Government and Congress Lord Irwin invited for a peace pact that is also known as Gandhi-Irwin pact

These are the reasons why Gandhiji called off this civil disobedience movement
