NEWARK, Ohio -- Police today named a suspect in a more than 2-year-old triple homicide investigation.
Iradell "Ike" Crumpton, 31, of Newark was indicted today by a Licking County grand jury on 17 counts, including threeof aggravated murder.
Crumpton, also known as Ike Mills, is accused of killing 21-year-old Misty Butts, 24-year-old James Bryant and 48-year-old John Boyce, all of Newark, on May 16, 2005. Police say that he killed them during a burglary and that drugs possibly were involved.
Butts' 13-month old child, Trevor Moore, was the only one to survive the attack.
Crumpton was arrested four days after the killings in Detroit on a parole violation and is incarcerated in a federal prison in Beckley, W.Va., on an unrelated weapons charge.
First Assistant Prosecutor Ken Oswalt said he plans to bring Crumpton back to Newark to face the charges in Licking County Common Pleas Court.
