Answer:

It began when the Soviet Union (USSR) began building missile sites in Cuba in 1962. Together with the earlier Berlin Blockade, this crisis is seen as one of the most important confrontations of the Cold War. It may have been the moment when the Cold War came closest to a nuclear war.

Cuban missile crisis

  • Cuban missile crisis is the reason for the existence of the Cold war between the United States and the Soviet Union.
  • It took place in the year 1962. The reason for this is a missile deployment policy carried out by the USA in Cuba. Since the Soviet union deposited harmful missiles on the premises of Cuba it agitated the US. This stocking of missiles was found out by the spy plane of the USA and this further triggered the problem.
  • The USA made clear that the missiles of the Soviet Union should leave the Cuban islands. There were a lot of political tensions surrounding this event which has resulted in Cold war.
