The east India company feared tipu sultan for the following reasons -
1. He was building close contact with the with the French and also protested strongly against the British rule in India.
2. He refused to grant concessions to the British officials and also won the support of many people.
3. He fought the British strongly and this scared the east India company as he would create a problem for them to take over the sub - continent and flourish their trade.
