The feeling of nationalism lacked in India before British arrived here because there was no such conditions before that. When British arrived here, then the conditions such as oppression, depression, suppression and discrimination. This led to the beginning of the ideas of colonialism which slowly got allied with the ideas of nationalism. This made people revolt against British. Also before British there were kings who ruled over their kingdoms, thus there was no chance of people to revolt.
