According to King Louis XVI,France was divided into three estates so that he could gain support from the Clergy and the Nobility,If anyone caused trouble to him..But this never happened as The Clergy and the Nobility were already defeated/Outraged by the Lower Estate people.Some of the Clergy and the Nobility even fled to other countries.
